The girl is short, perhaps no taller than five feet, with a round face, puffy cheeks, and lips a bit too full for her face holding a gentle smile; her glittering brown eyes are tilted in such a way that belie distant elven ancestry. Black hair falls calmly around her face, and she dresses in a dark red, loose, knee-length dress with a worn, brown captain's jacket with the rank strips torn off on over it. She wears stockings to cover her legs, and knee-length boots that seem a bit dirty around the feet. The long sleeves of the dress are buckled at the wrist by silver bracelets not unlike the cuffs of a manacle emblazoned with an inverted triangle with a central flame on a square background, capped by the crown of Cyre.
Beneath this puckish exterior, however, beats the heart of a sociopath.
Enlisted on behalf of the Cyran crown to use her magical prowess in defense of the kingdom, Rishaan is an orphan bounced from orphanage to orphanage as the war orphan total mounted. Shoved aside and redirected through the system year after year took a heavy toll on her psyche, or so says her interviewing officer, driving her to commit acts of destruction when she first manifested her talents.
Her varied crimes include twelve counts of murder, thirteen counts of mayhem, multiple counts of arson (it's a small stack), possession of illegal substances, unauthorized use of magical abilities in restricted zones, illegal border crossing, intent to cause mayhem, conspiracy to commit murder, assault, torture, property damage in excess of one thousand gold pieces, and various counts of terrorism. Her six month rampage consumed two towns and terrorized four more, though there were only twelve total deaths, hundreds of lives have been touched.
The rap sheet is trumped up, of course, but it does the job well; most of the deaths and injuries were the result of a few cases of arson and a few scattered killings. The crown's legal system slapped as much on the record as they could, even dragging in a few wandering indiscretions to increase the size of the file and make a better case in enlisting the powers of the Ayomore child. She is the last member of the family, once a middle-class merchant family hit hard by the high cost of war, making it all the much easier to act under the the on-paper goal of "rehabilitation."
Rishaan's "secret," lying just beneath the clothes she wears, is that she possesses an aberrant mark of substantial size and shape. It is a matter of military and prison record, open to those officers and guardsmen who are expected to associate with her, and thus is no big secret inside the circle of those who will be near her for extended periods of time, though they may not have seen it themselves, it is mentioned in the paperwork.

"A full pardon. Right. Don't think I didn't notice you failed to slap a term of completion date on those forms. When you're good and ready to let me go, I'll be dead and buried in the military cemetery. Oh, well. At least I'll get some land out of it, yeah?"
